The park is situated in the banks of the river Tajo . It is a obliged reference for the Mediterranean forest and bush. Tajo river and its tributary, the Tiétar offer the adequate aquatic medium. Its main characteristic is its biodiversity
Monfragüe National park has 17.852 ha . It is a protected area lying on both sides of the river tajo, including the mouth and a precious part of the Tiétar river
Situated in a privileged setting, it is situated to the south of Campo Arañuelo , a natural area. Its hills form a kind of arch which link Las Villuercas and the mountains around Vega del Alagón, acting as an authentic ecological corridor.
