SYMPTOMS

There are numerous symptoms of addiction, depending on the substance a person is dependent on. While you can be addicted to numerous stimuli, of course the most damaging stimuli is prohibited and very dangerous for your health. If you want to overcome your addiction, you must not let it take you too far and you must recognize the early signs of addiction. If you see that you or a loved one, cannot make your day without a certain stimuli it may be the right time to ask for some help.

WARNING SIGNS

Some of the warning signs are changes in behavior and of course physical appearance. If the person seems sick, loses weight, has no color or seems intoxicated you should find out more what it is about. Also, if you notice that things disappear from your home it might be the right moment to talk about addiction with your family members. Even though many people never think this terrible affliction could or would affect their family, it is something that could happen to you. It is for the best that you learn how to take care of it early on and tackle this problem sooner rather than later.

CAUSES

From peer pressure to curiosity, there are many causes why younger people try various stimuli. However, you must learn how to find out the cause and treat it before the addiction takes over. Sometimes the root cause will lie in a psychological problem or a situation that was not resolved, so make sure that you openly discuss emotions in your home and treat each problem with care and love.

Irene

My addiction has led me astray, but my family did not turn their back on me. They entered me into this program and it was so good for me. I am still clean and I lead a happy and normal life.
